The North Plains project area encompassed approximately 33.81 acres of flat to gently sloping farmland sited for a 6-lot rural industrial subdivision located in Washington County. The site presented challenges due to historical agricultural and existing land use practices, to the extent that the natural vegetation had been removed and planted as cropland. The scope of work included a wetland delineation to determine the presence and extent of non-jurisdictional and jurisdictional wetland and/or waters on-site. During the site investigation, one wetland totaling approximately 9.57 acres was identified in the southern and western portions of the subject site.

The presence of hydric soils and on-site hydrology were used as evidence to determine the wetland boundary. Soil samples excavated from two areas within the on-site wetland depict the mottled gleyed and low chroma hydric soils.
