Wetland ecosystems are unique and vary depending on their location within landscape. While many wetlands are located within transitional areas between uplands such as forests and grasslands, and deepwater aquatic systems such as rivers, lakes, and estuaries; some wetlands are situated within isolated areas where the primary source of hydrology is ground water. Wetlands also can combine attributes of both aquatic and terrestrial habitats, thereby creating challenges in their specific identification. Human influences and land use activities can further exacerbate their delineation.

We specialize in conducting wetland delineations over a broad range of landscapes and ecosystems throughout the Pacific Northwest including coastal and inland, Oregon and Washington, and arid and mountainous regions of Idaho. We have extensive experience in delineating challenging or disturbed areas in which sites have been actively or historically farmed, grazed, and/or mined.

WEC staff includes a Professional Wetland Scientist and certified wetland delineator and who can conduct all phases of wetland services including assessments, delineations, mitigation planning, and permitting.
